Brooklyn has turned 12 years old! It is crazy that she is already in Young Women's and going to the temple and all the things. Time really does go by too quickly. A few exciting things happened before her birthday like going to the temple for the first time to do baptisms for the dead, she has been back a few times already. Also, she got the top half of her braces on right before her birthday. She gets the bottom ones put on during Spring Break.
We didn't do anything too exciting for her birthday because she had two basketball games on her actual birthday. So we brought donuts to her second game. She then went with Nana and Pops to Chick-fil-A for lunch and then to the Nike store to do some shopping. Once she got home she opened her gifts. She got some sweet teal Nike's, some colored pens from McKay, an awesome snuggie blanket, a new indoor basketball and last but certainly not least an apple watch that has its own number and can text and call. She was pretty stoked about all of them! Grandma also got her a carved necklace that my Uncle Todd makes, they are traditional in New Zealand, which is where my Grandma's side of the family is from. I felt a little bad not throwing her a party, but since she had a Christmas Party I didn't feel too bad. After gifts and a shower we headed to Thai Basil for dinner and then back to Nana and Pops for cinnamon rolls. I think she had a great day and could feel how much she is loved!
Brooklyn is such a wonderful girl. We are so blessed to have her in our family. She is kind, generous, tender hearted, happy, a hard worker, and fun loving. She loves to read, play all her sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball), spend time with her friends and cousins, write and be goofy.
