Mexico

We had the opportunity to go to Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico with the entire Williams clan for a whole week.  We left Boise early Sunday June 7th (a few left Saturday) on 4 different flights to get down to Mexico and we were able to stay for an entire week.  My parents were super generous and let us all use their timeshare condos to stay in and also helped out a lot with the cost of flights so that we could all get down there.  It was really great to have everyone there (minus Hyrum and Xander).  For the most part we just hung at the resort and played in the pool and on the beach and in the ocean.  Everyday I would wake up and head to the gym and usually get back before Craig and Brooklyn had woke up.  We would then eat breakfast and get ready to head out.  We would swim and play for a few hours and then head back up to the room for lunch and nap time for Brooklyn.  After nap we would then head out again for a few hours before dinner.  Brooklyn was such a little fish.  She would swim all over the pool with her water wings and blow her bubbles and float on her back.  It was so nice to not have to hold her or be right next to her the entire time in the water.  We ate a lot of chips and salsa, mangoes from the vendors, built a ton of sand castles, played some sand volleyball, boogie boarded, and spent a lot of quality time together. Brooklyn loved having so many cousins around to play with all of the time.  She followed Kirah and "Tobi" (Kobi Jane) around constantly, they were super good sports about it.

Wednesday afternoon we took the bus into Puerto Vallarta and walked through the market.  I got a ring and we got Brooklyn a dress, purse, necklace and bracelet (sounds like a lot for Brooklyn but actually cost less then 20 bucks). After the market we headed to PiPi's for dinner, a tradition for our family.  Thursday morning a few of the group went out for a dune bugee exertion, they came back super dusty but all had a great time.  Friday evening Grandma and Grandpa kept all the grandkids and ordered room service while the rest of us went out to dinner, an awesome fajita place. Tiffy's family had to leave Saturday and then Dad, Missy and Dallin all had to leave Sunday morning for Europe.  On Sunday Craig, Brooklyn, Tucker and I headed into town again to walk along the boardwalk.  This time we took a taxi back to the resort since we knew how long the bus ride back was (over and hour),  it was definitely worth the $15. Monday morning we headed out to the pool one more time before heading to the airport and back to Boise.  It was such a great trip and we are so grateful that we were able to be there with my whole family.

Memorial Day Weekend

We decided to head up to McCall for the Memorial Day holiday.  It was just the 3 of us up at the cabin, but we had a blast.  We headed up Thursday afternoon and Brooklyn did amazing on the drive up.  I didn't have to take a single thing out of her bag, and she didn't have to stop and pee at all.  That evening we headed out to dinner at Pueblo Lindo.  Friday morning we headed to The Pancake House for breakfast and then out for a hike.  Brooklyn loved the bumpy drive up to the base of the hike.  We hiked up to Boulder Lake.  It was just over 2 miles each way.  We stuck Brooklyn in the hiking backpack and she loved it.  It was so beautiful.  We let Brooklyn get out and hike around when we got to the lake.  She thought it was the coolest thing to "hike".  She also thought it was super cool to pee in the woods, she asked to do it again before we got back to the car.

Friday evening we headed to My Father's Place for burgers and milkshakes.  Saturday morning we went to Gold Fork Hotsprings.  Brooklyn loved the warm pools. I of course forgot about sunscreen and both Craig and I got a little burned, but not Brooklyn, she just tans.

On Sunday we went to church in the morning and then went for a few walks.  Monday morning we headed out on another hike.  This one was about 5 miles but not as steep.  Brooklyn of course wanted to pee in the woods again.  After our hike we headed into town to get some ice cream and Ice Cream Alley.  Brooklyn loved her rainbow sherbet and I downed my double fudge and somehow Craig ended up with a mint chocolate chip cone and milkshake.  This was my kind of lunch!  Monday evening we roasted some marshmallows and made s'mores before Brooklyn headed to bed.

Tuesday morning we got up and cleaned and then headed back to Boise.  We had such a great time.  We are so excited to be able to enjoy McCall on a more regular basis.
