Spring Soccer and Dance

Brooklyn had a fantastic Spring Soccer season.  Her coach from fall season was able to keep her whole team together for spring and so they completely destroyed all the other teams.  Brooklyn really improved.  Her ball handling, shooting and defense were all spectacular.  She scored 7 goals two different times and scored at least once in every game.  One game she was playing so hard and really just giving her all that she ended up in tears because she was so tired.  She got a lot more aggressive too which made her very competitive parents quite proud.  They ended the season with a team party and a trophy.  She had such a great season and is already looking forward to next year.  McKay was a great cheerleader and was at every practice and game.

Brooklyn also just had her spring dance recital.  The theme was Beauty and the Beast, her class was the Puffs (not sure exactly what part they were from the movie).  Brooklyn practiced a lot for this recital and it really did pay off, she did such a great job.  She knew all of her steps perfectly and smiled the whole time.  I might add that I think my stage make-up is getting better each time.  I'm also not going to lie, I am really excited that dance is done with for the year.  I might also be secretly hoping that this is our last dance season, give me sports all day every day, I'm just not really made out to be a dance mom, but if that's what she wants then I guess that's what I'll be.

These last few months have been very busy for Miss Brooklyn.  On Tuesday's we would go from activity days to soccer practice and then on Thursday's she would go straight from school to dance and then straight from dance to her soccer game.  We only had a few days with whining, most of the time she was a great sport and just smiled the whole time.  It really was wonderful to what her learn and grow and develop her talents. Now here is to summer break and a little time to relax.
In those dance pictures you might notice that something is missing, she lost another tooth!  This is number 3 and she wiggled that thing until it looked like she might swallow it in her sleep, so I finally convinced her to let me pull it out.  Now she gets to enter into the time of awkward smiles for awhile, but it is super cute.\

It's Easter Time

We had such a wonderful Easter this year.  Brooklyn is old enough to really understand the meaning of Easter, so we spent a lot of time the week leading up to Easter going through Christ's death and Resurrection and all of the events that lead up to it.  The kids got to do 3 different Easter Egg hunts and the first one was a spiritual hunt that allowed us to talk about some of the symbols of the season.  They then got to do a hunt at Nana and Pop's house and Grandma and Grandpa's house.  McKay really got into the hunts and would sprint all over collecting eggs.  They also had a lot of fun decorating Easter Eggs and eating way too much candy.  They were so excited that the Easter bunny came to visit and and left them a few goodies in their baskets.  It really was a wonderful time with a lot of family.
