Drum Roll Please...

We had our ultrasound yesterday, April 18th, and was able to see our precious little babe.  We brought Brooklyn along to the doctors appointment and she loved being able to see the baby move around and hear the heart beat.  It definitely made it more real for her, that and my growing belly.

Money Shot
Most days Brooklyn said that she wanted it to be a girl, but we tried to remind her that it might be a boy and that it would be just as fun to have a baby brother as it would be to have a baby sister.  Well I am glad that we did because we are having a BOY!!!  We are very excited, a little nervous because it is new territory for us, but super excited for this new adventure.  Brooklyn has now moved passed wanting to name the baby Elsa and has decided she would like to name her little brother Daddy Boy.  The doctors appointment went really well.  The baby is healthy and growing as he should be.  He was a little shy for most of the ultrasound but at the very end he decided to give us what the ultrasound tech called the "money shot".  Now it is time to start thinking of boy names and to go shopping (lots of boy things to buy).  We are so excited and can't wait to me him in less than 4 months.
21 weeks
I figured I should document my belly at least a few times during the pregnancy

Eagle Vision One Open House

The optometry practice that Craig is with opened up a new building a few months ago but just finally had the open house.  The new building is amazing, it is the most amazing practice I have ever seen.  Everything is top of the line and pristine.  Brooklyn loves to go to the office to watch the bubble wall change colors.  They did a ribbon cutting ceremony and had food and cake for everyone that came.  They also had a jump house for the kids.  Brooklyn also tried out the photo booth.  We feel very fortunate to be able to be a part of such a great practice.  Craig is definitely a great addition to their practice and everyone there loves him.

Spring has Sprung

Spring in Idaho is definitely different then the springs we had been used to the last 4 years in Memphis. It can be freezing cold one day, sunny and 70 degrees the next and raining the next. So to say the least we are constantly checking our weather channel app to see if we are going to be able to play outside that day.  The days that it has been warm we are outside as much as possible.  Brooklyn has become a pro at the bicycle she got for her birthday, so we take rides/walks around the neighborhood as much as possible.  She loves all of the tulips and daffodils in everyone's yards and just can't help herself to stop and smell them.  She also loves all of the cherry blossoms and "apricot trees" that line all of the streets here.  If the weather is nice we always head to the park after the gym and we typically take a picnic lunch, we love to meet friends there as often as possible (more so for my sake so that I have someone to talk to).

My parents got a grandparents pass to the zoo this year and they have taken the kids a few times.  Brooklyn went on her first carousel ride, she was kind of unsure the first time, but the next time we went she was all about it.  She loves to go with her cousins and grandma and grandpa.

Of course with the warmer weather comes golfing.  Craig's golf fever hit hard a couple months ago and luckily he has been able to play a few round already and he goes down to the driving range as often as possible.  Brooklyn and I join him when we can.  I don't hit any balls due to my growing belly, but Brooklyn loves to take her clubs and hit for a while.  I sure hope she continues to love golf and that it can become a family sport.
Warming up with Dad
Although it has been pretty warm here, for the most part, McCall still has quite a bit of snow.  When we were up there last month we of course still had to play out in the snow.  I think when we go up this weekend we will be able to finally see grass in the backyard.
We had to dig out the swing
First hike of the season.  We didn't make it very far because of the snow, but we sure had fun. brooklyn also had a lot of fun in the backyard since we could finally play on the swing set and climb all of the boulders.
