Brooklyn turns 6!

I can't believe that our sweet little girl is already 6 years old.  She is growing up way too quick.  She had a fun birthday.  We started out with balloons and a waffle with sprinkles and cool whip.  Grandma then stopped by to drop of their present...Brooklyn now officially has a pet!!  Grandma and Grandpa gave her a purple beta fish that she named Goldie.  We went out to lunch with cousins before heading to school. After school she got to open presents before going to Panda for dinner and then to Nana and Pops house for cake and ice cream with cousins.  Saturday Brooklyn and I went to get our toe nails done and then on Sunday we headed to my parents house for a birthday dinner and then back to Nana and Pops to open presents from them.  I would have to say the fish was probably her favorite gift but she got a good collection of other things like soccer goals for the back yard, an Olaf stuffed animal from McKay, a jewelry box and pink razor scooter and Minnie Mouse earrings.  The weekend before her birthday (actually on my birthday) while we were in McCall we went ice skating, which is a annual request on her birthday. She had a lot of fun and told everyone she saw that day that it was her birthday.

I feel like she has really grown up this last year.  Starting school and learning to read has been huge.  She loves to go to school every day, ride her bike and scooter, play with friends and cousins, dance and play soccer, make up games with McKay and be a good big sister.  She is very obedient, most of the time, and is a great big sister, most of the time.  She is very social, but also enjoys some time to herself.  She is such a good girl and we are so blessed to have her in our family.  I am so excited to see what this next year has to bring for her.

Winter Wonderland

We had so much fun up in McCall this winter.  They got slammed with snow and we took full advantage.  We played, went sledding, climbed snow piles, and made snowmen to our hearts content.  McKay was a little wimpy this winter when it came to sledding, so he spent most of his time throwing snow at whoever was the closest.  Every time we were there we were out in the snow at least a couple times each day with a hot chocolate break in between.  We are so grateful to be able to have access to such a beautiful cabin that we can escape to any time of year.  Next year we hope to get Brooklyn skiing, so there will be more time spent on the ski hill than in the back yard, but for now I have had enough snow and I am ready for spring.

At this point you could still the swing set, it would soon be totally covered in snow

Most of McKay's sledding consisted of me pulling him around in the sled

McCall has been dumped on even more since this picture, it is completed under snow now
