Newborn Pictures

Our good friend Kelsie was so kind to take some newborn pictures of Brooklyn for us. These were taken when she was 16 days old.  These are just a few of my favorites:

I know that we are bias, but Craig and I certainly have a beautiful baby girl!

1 Month Old

March 22, 2013
1 Month Old
8 lbs

I can't believe how time flies.  This last month has been a blur, amazing but a blur non the less.  Luckily Craig was able to spend a week with us during his spring break where we just hung at home and he took care of both of us. Then once he had to go back to school my mom was able to fly out to Memphis and spend 8 days with us.

It was so nice to have her here. She cooked, she cleaned and she gave me an adult to talk to during the day.  I am so glad that she was able to change her flight and come out early, I think I might have gone a little crazy had she not been able to come when she did.  I had a minor freak out when it was time for her to leave, but she assured me that I could handle it and thank goodness we have survived so far.  It was so nice to see her and can't wait until Brooklyn can meet more of her extended family.

We have really been blessed with a good baby.  She eats well, sleeps well (most days), doesn't cry much, and loves her baths.  As always there have been good days and bad days, but the good days most definitely out weigh the bad.  We just can't get enough of our sweet girl even if she throws up all over her dad or projectile poops all over the coffee table, couch and my kindle!

Introducing Brooklyn Marie

On Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10:28 a.m. Craig and I were blessed with our BEAUTIFUL daughter Brooklyn Marie Moss.

Brooklyn decided to grace us with her presences 13 days before her due date and we are sure grateful that she did.  On Thursday the 21st I went to my 38 week doctor appointment and was dialated to a 3 and 75% effaced.  My doctor had continually said she didn't think I would make it to my due date. I had told her that Craig had spring break the following week and it would sure be nice if the baby came early.  The doctor told me she would be more than happy to strip my membranes, she couldn't guarentee it would bring on labor but she would be more than happy to try. I told her to go for it. That afternoon my back started to really hurt, but I didn't think it was labor because it was a continual pain. By the time Craig got home from school that evening my Braxton Hicks contractions had started to get a little more regular, although still far apart.  At 11:00pm I sent Craig to bed but at midnight I woke him up because my contractions were about 5 minutes apart and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep unless we went to the hospital to make sure I wasn't actually in labor.

When we arrived at the hospital I was sure they would send us home because my contractions still weren't painful. They got me back at about 12:30 a.m. and asked me all their questions and got me all hooked up to their monitors and instantly my contractions became painful and about 3 minutes apart.  They monitored me for about an hour before they called my doctor who told them to go ahead and admit me. We were then taken to a labor and delivery room where I received an epidural at about 4:30 a.m.  The epidural was amazing and totally worth the spinal headache that I got and I would recommend it to anyone.

I started to push at about 9:45 am and at 10:28 am Brooklyn was born. The doctor had to do an episiotomy and use the forceps to get her out because she was posterior facing. The poor little thing had a massive cone head, but luckily that went away quickly.  Brooklyn weighed 7 lbs even and was 20 inches long and instantly owned both mine and her daddy's hearts.  She was healthy and perfect in every way and we could not be happier. Luckily the following week was Craig's spring break and he was able to spend the enitre week with us.
