Spring has Sprung

We had a really wet and snowy winter  and continued to get moisture in April.  In typical Idaho fashion we went from Mid 50s/low 60s right into 80 degree weather.  The kids were crazy busy with their sports.  McKay did flag football for the first time, his team was the Bengal's.  He had a blast and was usually the fastest kid out there and once the other team figured that out, they would double and triple team him.  He got really good at grabbing flags by the end of the season. He also went for the mohawk look for the intimidation factor.  Brooklyn had soccer as well.  She played for Albion West again.  They went into the upper bracket this season and had a lot tougher season.  The season started with some major losses but by the end of the season they had won and when they lost it was only by a goal or two.  We also went to our first traveling tournament.  Luckily it was only to Twin Falls.  Brooklyn only played the games on Saturday, but had a great time with her teammates.  They took 3rd place and were pretty happy with it.  She also had one more tournament but it was just in Boise.  She had a lot of fun and improved quite a bit.

We spent as much time outside as possible.  We had fires, we went to the driving range, tried out the new park in Star and just played in the backyard as much as possible. Craig and I were also able to finally hit up a hike we've wanted to do for a while up towards Bogus Basin called Stack Rock.  It was about 10 miles round trip but not too steep.  It was fun to finally get it checked off the list.

I was also able to spend a lot of time at the kids school.  I helped out with the fourth grade Wagon's Ho.  I was also able to help with Field Day and then was there for Brooklyn's 4th grade music program (yay for recorders), McKay's kindergarten celebration, and Brooklyn's research project presentation.  I felt like I lived at the school during the month of May.  I can't believe that McKay is already done with Kinder and Brooklyn is on to her last year of Elementary school.  They both had great years at school, their teachers had nothing but great things to say about them.  They are ready for summer, but are going to miss their friends.

We also got to celebrate Pop's birthday and Mother's Day and worked on our headstands. We had a wonderful Spring and can't wait for summer and lots of time spent at the pool and also, maybe a little break from running kids around to practices.
