Easter Time

This Easter was a little different than past Easters with everything that is going on.  We debated keeping the Easter Bunny in quarantine, but decided to let him be immune to the virus.  I really enjoyed spending the week leading up to Easter discussing with the kids what Christ went through his last week on earth.  The world wide fast that took place on Good Friday also added to the spirit that week.  On Friday the kids and I dyed Easter eggs and then that evening we went up to Craig's parents for a single family egg hunt in their backyard.  On Sunday for part of our church at home we did a spiritual Easter egg hunt and talked about all the symbolism surrounding our celebration of Easter.  Sunday afternoon we did a small candy filled Easter egg hunt in the backyard.  The Easter bunny did manage to show up that morning too with a basket full of a few random things.  I don't think the kids noticed much difference with this Easter, but I sure missed all of the time we typically spend with extended family during this special holiday.  I am grateful that my kids are starting to better understand the amazing sacrifice that was made on our behalf and the love that our Savior has for us.  Every time McKay prays he says "Thank you Jesus die for us," It makes my mommy heart smile.  I am so grateful for our Savior and for the wonderful gift the atonement is in my life.
