Coeur d'Alene

 

The annual Idaho Optometric meeting was held in Coeur d'Alene again this year and so Craig and I decided to make it into a quick weekend get away.  Craig headed up the evening of Wednesday October 13th, since he had meetings starting Thursday morning.  I then joined him Thursday night after dropping the kids off at soccer and having Craig's parents handle pick up.  We are so lucky to have family close that are willing to help watch our kids.  We had a great room at the Coeur d'Alene Resort that had an amazing view of the lake and a great little fire place.  Friday morning while Craig had meetings I went to the gym and then headed off to the spa for a massage, which was AMAZING.  I then met him for lunch and then we were off to go check out Lake Pend Oreille.  It was about an hour drive to Sand Point where we walked around the cute town and checked out the lake.  It was a little rainy but still beautiful.

That evening after we got back to the hotel we met up with some friends for dinner at the Floating Restaurant, which Craig had already been to the night before with all the Vision One employees who were at the conference, but I wanted to go so here he was again.  It is a fun restaurant that floats on the lake and the food is delicious.  We even got our dinner paid for by another optometrist that happened to be at the same place.  It was a little weird, but I am not one to pass up a free meal.  

Saturday we had planned to go hike to Priest Lake, but hadn't realized how far of a drive it was, so we bagged that idea and decided to sleep in instead, which means about 7:30.  We went to the gym and then grabbed some breakfast at the hotel.  We then walked around the docks and the park by the hotel.  After a quick nap while Craig watched football, we then headed to a movie and dinner and then ice cream, well I had ice cream, Craig just watched.  Back to the hotel to watch the BSU game before heading to bed.  Sunday morning we woke up and packed up and then were off to the airport to return our rental car and head home to our kiddos.  It was quick, but so nice.  It is always good to get away for a few days, but I always love coming back to the kiddos even more.
