Labor Day Weekend

We decided to head up to McCall for Labor Day weekend.  Craig took the Friday off and so we were able to head up Friday morning and beat a lot of the traffic.  After eating lunch we headed out to the lake for the afternoon.  We drove the boat around for a while and then headed over to North Beach and let the kids play in the sand.  It was a beautiful afternoon and a perfect day out on the lake, the only thing that would have made it better was if I could have skied.  Fingers crossed, my shoulder should be ready for water skiing by next summer.

Saturday morning Craig then played a round of golf with his dad and brother while I took the kids over to my brother-in-laws family cabin on Lake Cascade.  We hung out with my sister and her kids and my mom all morning and just enjoyed the sunshine and the water.  We even took out my sisters boat and hooked the tube up behind it.  I was even able to talk McKay into tubing with me and Brooklyn.

Sunday we just laid low at the cabin.  The kids played outside with their cousin and we just soaked up the last little bit of summer.  Monday morning after we got the kids their breakfast, Craig and I headed out to hike up to Cloochman Saddle and Squaw point.  It was 6.5 miles out and back and at the top we got to over look Josephine Lake.  It only took us just over two hours to hike and that included a good break at the top.  It is amazing how fast we can hike without a 4 year old and a 7 year old.  It was a fun hike with a really pretty view.  I am continually amazed at the wonderful world that was created for us.

Monday evening we then packed up and headed back home.  It really was the perfect weekend.  Craig got to golf, the kids and I spent two days out on the lake.  Had a ton of family time and we got to hike.  It really can't get much better than that.  It was a great way to end the summer.
