16 Months

December 15, 2017
Size 3 diapers
12-18 month clothes

Well this month started off a little shaky.  Brooklyn passed her cold onto McKay who was already teething.  His cold then turned into croup and because of his runny nose he also got an ear infection.  We took him into the doctor after a few bad days and not so fun nights and got a steroid for the croup and an antibiotic for his ear infection.  He also decided that this would be a super fantastic time to go through a major sleep regression, so we have not slept a whole lot this last month.  He was sleeping so badly that he went back to two naps for most of the month.  He got in three of his molars, working on his 4th and on 3 of his k-9's.  So he is up to 11 teeth total and working on 4 more.  This month he really started to communicate a lot better.  He picked up quite a few new words like baby, sissy, dink (drink), bebe (binky), yaya (yes).  He understands so much and will shake his head yes or no and point to what he wants.  He walks to the fridge or the pantry if he is hungry, he gets his shoes when he wants to go outside.  He still loves his binky and takes it everywhere with him.  He is obsessed with his building blocks and is getting pretty good at building towers.  He really likes to play with his sister and luckily Brooklyn is very good at sharing and she is enjoying having a play buddy.  They really like having a play room and I really love being able to just close the door and not have to think about the mess.  The kids have really adjusted well to the new house and seem to do well in their rooms.  Brooklyn is not a huge fan of having to drive further to get places, but other than that we really love being in our new house.  McKay did switch over to a toddler car seat and he does seem to like facing forward and seeing what is going on outside of the car.

This month we were also able to go up to McCall for a weekend, it had been a while since we had been up there because of the move.  But of course when we had planned to go up was right when McKay got sick so it was not a fun drive up.  Luckily I got his medicine the morning we headed up and so he did start feeling better while we were up there.  It snowed while we were there, so the kids had a lot of fun playing in the snow and going sledding.  McKay didn't last super long just playing in the snow but he sure loved sledding, he just wanted to keep going.  We of course hit up My Father's Place and Pancake House while we were there and came home Monday morning.
