It had been 4 years since Craig's whole family had been together. We hadn't even met Lisa's 3 kids yet. Over the 4th of July we were all able to get together up in McCall. People came into and left Boise at all different times, but for 3 days we were all up at the cabin together. Friday morning we all just ate breakfast and then started our trek up to McCall. Once we were up there we got settled and ate lunch and then headed out to the lake. It was unheard of hot up there over the weekend, so it was nice to be on the water. We of course couldn't all fit on the boat at the same time, so we took turns playing on the beach. Brooklyn loved the water and when we were out on the boat she tubed with me and also got in and swam in the lake. That evening after dinner we had a fire and roasted s'mores. Brooklyn got to sleep in a closet in a pack n play, but she did great, even without any air conditioning (luckily we were on the main level of the cabin). Saturday morning we got up and had breakfast and then got ready for family pictures. Family pictures were a little chaotic, but we got them done. The only article of matching clothing that most of us already had was Boise State gear so we decided to wear that for the pictures. GO BRONCOS!
After pictures the kids played some fun games that Diane put together. We then went on a short nature hike and headed back to the cabin for the kids to play some water games. After dinner we did some small fireworks on the driveway. Brooklyn loved the sparklers. She did manage to set her skirt on fire when Craig was trying to light another sparkler off of hers. Luckily she didn't even realize it had happen. After getting the kids to bed most of the adults headed into town to watch the fireworks over the lake. Stan and Diane volunteered to listen for the sleeping children. Sunday morning we ate breakfast and a few families took off and a few stated for church and then left afterwards. It was a great weekend and we had so much fun seeing all of the family. Brooklyn loved spending time with her cousins. Her favorite thing was to eat meals outside on the patio, which we have to do now every time we go up there. She will be in for a rude awakening once it starts to get cold. Hopefully it won't be 4 years before we do this again, but luckily everyone comes to visit Nana and Pops and now that we are in Boise we will get to see them too.
