Happy Easter

We started out our Easter festivities with an Easter Egg Hunt with the Moss cousins who live in town.  We did this over a week before Easter just because of peoples schedules, but Brooklyn sure didn't mind.  The kids had a lot of fun running around the backyard, the weather was absolutely perfect.  After the hunt we all came inside for a bunch of yummy desserts.  The cousins all had a blast playing together and of course Brooklyn was super sad when everyone had to leave.

On Easter Sunday McKay was sick and Craig had meetings before church so we didn't get any family pictures.  Brooklyn had a lot of fun finding her Easter basket in the morning and McKay seemed to be more interested in Brooklyn's basket then the cars in his own basket.  Church was great.  I always love the messages about the Resurrection and our Savior.  The music is always fantastic as well.  It was fun teaching Brooklyn about the real meaning of the holiday.  She is at the age that she could start to understand what Jesus really did for us.

That evening we went to my parents house for dinner and the kids had another Easter egg hunt.  Brooklyn came home with way too much candy, don't tell her but I threw away about half of it, mainly so that I didn't eat it all.  I am grateful for the opportunity that we have to celebrate our Savior and that he died for us so that we can live again.

8 months old

April 15, 2017
16 lbs
size 2 diapers
size 6 month clothes

Sadly this is the best picture I could get of him and it was even the day after he turned 8 months.  He has been sick for most of the month and just not a very happy camper.  He started off with teething/cold (still only 2 teeth), which then led to an ear infection, after we finally got him on antibiotics he then got Roseola and had a fever for 6 days.  Luckily he still slept pretty good until he got the Roseola, but between that and the antibiotics messing with his stomach we were in for some super fun sleepless nights.  I felt so bad for the kid, just one thing after the other and he just wasn't his normally smiley happy self.  He got even more clingy, if that is even possible.  Needless to say it was a long few weeks and we are just hoping he will be done with these ear infections so that he doesn't have to get tubes put in, which will happen if he gets another ear infection before he turns one.

While he was sick he wasn't such a big fan of his bottle.  He went from drinking about 20-24 oz. of formula a day to only about 12 oz or so.  I was getting pretty nervous about him getting dehydrated.  He luckily was still eating his solids well so we just fed him more solids and pushed as much water as possible.  He eats a lot of different foods now.  If we are eating he has to be eating.  He loves noodles, sweet potatoes, cheese, banana bread/pumpkin bread, and will pretty much eat any baby food.  He loves to try new food.  One day Brooklyn and I were eating apple slices with our lunch and you could tell he really wanted one, so I handed him one to suck on and he made the funniest face but just kept on gnawing at it. He started rolling over in his crib a lot this month, but he refused to roll back over to his back, which meant that Craig and I had to go in a lot to flip him back over.  You could tell when he was flipped because he would have this high pitched squeal. After about a week of that he decided to just start sleeping on his side, which is actually good for his flat head.

He still loves his sister very much and loves to watch her run around and be silly.  He always has the biggest smile for his Daddy, especially when he comes home from work.  He loves to splash around in the bath tub, Craig and I are usually soaked by the time we are done bathing him.  He is pretty much glued to my hip, which makes it really hard to get things done and be productive (I really hope he grows out of this soon), he cries pretty much anytime I set him down.  He is addicted to his binky, he has it in his mouth most of the day.  He has started to show some interest in getting things that are out if his reach.  We are no where near crawling, but he will at least go from sitting and roll on to his tummy to try to reach something.  Even though he has been grumpy most of the month he still has my whole heart, here's to hoping next month is a little better.
trying to figure out what exactly Brenner was doing

just hanging out during lunch

this is pretty much what tummy time looks like now-a-days

we were thinking we would just ship him off to Alaska with Nana and Pops

look at those sad little eyes, you can just tell he isn't feeling well
